Since 2008, EIE has fuelled over 550 tech ventures, helping them secure more than £1.2 billion in investment. We continue to be a cornerstone of Scotland's £1.3 billion Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal, propelling the nation's tech ecosystem to new heights.

2008 | The Spark
EIE launched with 10 ambitious startups at the University of Edinburgh's Appleton Tower, attracting 50 curious investors to this inaugural event.
2013-2015 | Ignition
In 2013, Fanduel secured a £6.9m investment, while Ecometrica grew with a £616k boost. During this period, Fanduel achieved a monumental £275m Series E funding round in 2015, with £176m confirmed. PureLifi illuminated the future with a £1.5m investment. In a strategic move, Fanduel acquired Kotikan, Scotland's largest mobile app development agency. Meanwhile, IGS cultivated growth with a £791k investment.

2019 | Expansion
Over 950 tech enthusiasts flooded McEwan Hall for the EIE event. A strategic partnership was formed with the Data-Driven Innovation initiative, marking a significant milestone in EIE's growth.

2021-2023 | Resilience
Virtual events kept innovation flowing during challenging times. Blackford Analysis was acquired by Bayer, showcasing successful exits. IGS cultivated a substantial £42.2m investment, demonstrating continued investor confidence.

2024 | Reunion
EIE24 returned triumphantly, featuring nearly 30 cutting-edge companies. Over 130 global investors converged on Edinburgh's iconic venues, including Edinburgh Castle, The John McIntyre Conference Centre, and Dynamic Earth.

2025 | The Future Unfolds
EIE25 is set for May 14-15, 2025. The event will collaborate with Tech Tour's Growth Deeptech event, spotlighting breakthroughs in quantum technology, semiconductors, space exploration, and artificial intelligence.
